Lindsay’s Law

As many of you are aware, last August the state legislators passed Senate Bill 252, known as Lindsay’s Law. The law requires all youth athletes, parents/guardians, and coaches to annually complete a set of requirements prior to participating in any organized sports activity, including youth sports organizations like our swim & dive team.

Lindsay’s Law is about Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in youth athletes who are 19 years or younger who practice for or compete in athletic activities.

In addition to filling out & returning the required medical form each parent/guardian must also fill out and return a Lindsay’s Law signature form ALONG WITH THE ATHLETE.

Additionally the parent/guardian is also required to watch a short video (16:30 in length) prior to signing & returning the Lindsay’s Law signature form.

The parent/guardian will also receive a handout on Sudden Cardiac Arrest & Lindsay’s Law.
